Help the National Desexing Network end pet overpopulation by getting involved with National Desexing Month!

Last year more than 3,000 kittens and 1,200 puppies were born, surrendered or simply dumped at one of five AWLQ shelters in SE Queensland alone; with many others abandoned to live and breed on the streets, around shopping centres and industrial complexes.”As you know through your own lifesaving work, this is just the tip of the iceberg, with unplanned litters across the country every breeding season, every year, bringing misery to so many.

It could so easily be solved by just one simple operation, the desexing of the household pet.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the cause, the National Desexing Network (NDN) will hold its 13th
Annual National Desexing Month campaign in July. During this month we will be calling on Colleagues, just
like you, to be active campaigners in the push to have as many cats and dogs desexed as possible.

4 QUICK STEPS TO JOIN THE MOVEMENT!
STEP 1 – Urge your local vets, council/shire to get involved – see our templated letters HERE

STEP 2 – Fundraise for disadvantaged members of your community

STEP 3 – Display the National Desexing Month 2017 – available HERE

STEP 4 – Download the press release on ndn.org.au and forward it to your local media – available HERE

STEP 5 – Spread the word on social media! – Graphic available HERE

NDN is driven to pursue social change and ensure that unwanted litters aren’t dumped on your door, ours, or
worse. Your involvement will raise the profile of pet desexing, and lessen the burden on all of our resources in
years to come.
For those of you who have supported us before, or support us every year, thank you. You are making
a difference to the lives of so many and helping change the way companion animals, and their young, are
viewed into the future.
